The Royal Trophy is enjoying an explosion of interest following Asia's maiden victory over Europe, with countries, golf course owners, and sponsors queuing up to get involved.

The promoters have already received several inquiries from various countries including China and Singapore about taking the competition there when it is due to move away from Thailand in 2012. New and existing partners and sponsors also confirmed their commitment to be on board, therefore pre-empting their competitors, as the Event's profile soared following Asia's thrilling 10-6 win in Bangkok.

Ivan Ballesteros, nephew of the Royal Trophy's 'founding father', the legendary Seve Ballesteros who is in partnership with the Entertainment Group as the Competition's promoters, admitted he was overwhelmed by the response. He said: "To have countries, courses and sponsors phoning you up while the Event is still in full swing, is extraordinary. It has really taken off and captured the imagination of the Asian public.

"The Royal Trophy is scheduled to stay in Thailand for two more years, as it was always our intention to stage the first five Matches here. That is our very humble act of appreciation to His Majesty the King, who has so graciously donated the magnificent sixteen-kilogram solid-silver perpetual Trophy which Asia and Europe compete for.

"After the initial five years of the Royal Trophy, one of the options is to play it in five different countries over the next five years. But the ultimate intention is to play it alternately in the great cities of Asia and Europe .

"For the first ten years, we will stage the Royal Trophy on an annual basis. But that may change from year eleven, as at that point we will consider the option of making the Royal Trophy a bi-annual event.

"The potential for the Royal Trophy is truly immense. After the tremendous success of the third edition of the Event, we feel the sky is the limit. As Seve has always said, the Royal Trophy is on the way to become one of the world’s truly major sporting competitions.”
