The third edition of the Royal
Trophy golf championship has been
scheduled to take place on January
9-11, 2009 at the highly exclusive
Amata Spring Country Club. The unique
and emotionally-charged competition
played between the continents of Asia
and Europe will once again feature
foursomes, four-ball and singles matches
– all played in a team match-play
format.
“Preparations for the Royal Trophy
are on time and progressing very well.
We have been working on the Event
for many months and have already seen
many exciting developments materialize.
We are confident that the third edition
of the Royal Trophy will be highly
successful and we expect spectator
attendance, the public facilities
available to the fans at Amata Spring
Country Club and the overall scale
of the Event to significantly surpass
the inaugural two editions;” said
the Championship’s Managing Director
Lincoln Venancio.
“We have made solid progress in the
area of corporate sponsorships. For
the first time the Royal Trophy will
have an Official Residential Real
Estate Sponsor which is SET-listed
N.C. Group. We are very pleased to
partner with such a large and reputable
corporation and undoubtedly the co-operation
with N.C. Group will add great strength
and value to the Royal Trophy, especially
with their very direct involvement
with the sport of golf through their
Home On Green program;” added Venancio.
The Royal Trophy is the result of
the legendary Spanish golfer Seve
Ballesteros’ dream of bringing the
three billion people Asian continent
together to compete against the masters
of team golf – Europe , in a Ryder
Cup format. The first two editions
of the Event were staged with great
success as the matches attracted record
galleries and featured the highest
standard of professional golf.
N.C. Group is a leader in the residential
real estate development business currently
with about twenty five major projects
located in Bangkok ’s most desirable
suburban areas. Among the Group’s
broad range of projects is the luxurious
Home On Green development.
“We are delighted to partner with
the Royal Trophy. This is a very good
opportunity to promote our business
and to contribute to the development
of this fantastic Event which provides
tremendous sporting inspiration to
our Thai youth;” said Somnuek Tanthathoedtham,
Deputy Managing Director of NC Housing
Public Co., Ltd.
“The Royal Trophy produces golf of
great quality and delivers a first-class
experience for golf fans. In all of
N.C. Group’s properties our goal is
to attain the highest standards in
building conditions and quality of
life for the residents. We strive
for the utmost customer satisfaction
and our Home On Green offers a truly
luxurious golf community featuring
grand homes overlooking the splendid
27-hole Thanyathani Golf and Country
Club golf course. We believe there
is a great synergy between the Royal
Trophy and N.C. Group and we are looking
forward to a very rewarding partnership;”
added Somnuek.
“An important element of the partnership
between our Group and the Royal Trophy
is a direct contribution to charity.
We are very much committed to the
community;” concluded Somnuek.
The European Team will be captained
by the five-time Major winner Ballesteros
while Japan ’s Joe Ozaki will lead
the Asian charge for the second time.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed leading
Europe in the first two editions of
the Royal Trophy and I am very much
looking forward to competing against
the Asian Team again;” said former
world number one player Ballesteros.
“I have every intention to lead our
Asian continent to victory in January
of 2009,” said Japanese golfing giant
Ozaki. |
