The Royal Trophy has announced
today an extension of the tripartite
charitable partnership with Ban Kru
Noi and Au Bon Pain. The co-operation
provides that admission tickets for
the Europe versus Asia Golf Championship
will continue to be made conveniently
available for sale through twenty-eight
Au Bon Pain outlets in Thailand with
proceeds being donated to help the
underprivileged children at Ban Kru
Noi.
“We are all very fortunate to be
able to participate in the beautiful
sport of golf but we are also aware
that many people in the world are
a lot less fortunate. I know that
I can speak on behalf of all of the
players that participate in this fantastic
continental golf event that it gives
us great satisfaction to help children
in need in the Kingdom of Thailand,”
said the legendary Seve Ballesteros
who has captained the European Team
at the Royal Trophy for the past two
years.
The co-operation brings together
Royal Trophy promoters Entertainment
Group Limited, leading bakery cafe
chain Au Bon Pain and the charity
organization Ban Kru Noi which has,
over the past twenty seven years,
helped underprivileged children have
the gift of education.
“All of our staff members at Au Bon
Pain in Thailand are very pleased
to support Ban Kru Noi. The help they
provide to the underprivileged children
is fantastic and I have been there
myself and seen it with my own eyes.
It is truly touching to see how this
organization takes children that are
in real need of help and give them
a chance in life - a very meaningful
undertaking. We are also delighted
to continue to partner with the Royal
Trophy and make admission tickets
to this major Championship readily
available to the fans at our multiple
Cafes,” said Au Bon Pain Thailand’s
Group Managing Director, Nadim Xavier
Salhani.
Admission tickets for the Royal Trophy
2008 will be on sale in October. Fans
that purchase tickets at Au Bon Pain
outlets can be certain that the revenue
generated will be put to great use
at Ban Kru Noi. Au Bon Pain also has
plans to offer exciting golf related
games at their outlets during the
period leading up to the Royal Trophy
which is scheduled to take place in
early 2008.
“This is a great co-operation between
the Royal Trophy, Au Bon Pain and
Ban Kru Noi and it is a real pleasure
to be able to help the children,”
said Lincoln Venancio, Managing Director
of tournament owner Entertainment
Group Limited.
“I sincerely believe that the Royal
Trophy will make a similar impact
in Asian golf to that which the Ryder
Cup made in Europe in the 1980s. We
are delighted with the great success
of the first two years of the Event
and making a contribution to the children
is a tremendous bonus. We are truly
honored that the perpetual Royal Trophy
was so graciously donated by His Majesty
The King and I am certain that this
great Event has a very bright future,”
added the 5-time Major winner Ballesteros.
The Royal Trophy brings together
some of the very best professional
golfers from Europe and Asia to compete
for the pride and honor of their respective
continents. The Championship will
be staged for the third time in Thailand
in early 2008 with specific dates
to be announced in the near future.
