2006, Edfors won the
TCL Classic, the British
Masters and the Scottish
Open – all within
four months. At the
Scottish Open, he
prevailed over nine
of the world’s top
30 players.
Edfors, part of Sweden’s
greatest generation
of golfers, has achieved
success throughout
the globe prior to
his breakout year.
He played amateur
golf for the Swedish
National Team and
on a Division I athletic
scholarship, Edfors
graduated from the
University of Texas
at San Antonio. He
then joined the Challenge
Tour where he won
the Fortis Challenger
Open in The Netherlands
and the Stanbic Zambia
Open (2003), topped
the Challenge Tour
rankings and secured
nine top ten finishes.
The Swede is a charismatic
character; his wardrobe
is vibrant and his
swing is unorthodox.
