Player Profile :

Lee Westwood has won twenty five professional golf tournaments on five continents. The Englishman has also claimed the title of the King of European Golf in 2000 winning the year-end European Tour Order of Merit. In that same year he amassed six tournament victories equaling a record held by Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomerie.

Westwood has finished in the European Tour Order of Merit top-ten seven times, has been ranked as high as No. 4 in the world rankings and has managed to win tournaments on every continent – Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe and America.

In terms of team golf his record is truly amazing. The five-time Ryder Cup player, who sank the putt to ensure Europe’s consecutive victory in 2004, incredibly has not lost in his last ten matches at the Ryder Cup.

At the age of thirteen, spurred by a half set bought by his grandparents, the young Westwood joined his father in learning the game. However, one of golf’s greats did not always have golf in the front of mind; Westwood was an avid cricketer, rugby and football player. His wife, Laurae Coltart is the sister of Ryder Cup player Andrew Coltart.
