Profile :
S.K. Ho’s sixth career
title at the Mizuno
Open allowed the Seoul
native to qualify
for the British Open.
In his fourth time
at the Open, Ho held
the world’s attention
when he capped his
best appearance -
a tie for 11th place,
just outside the top
ten, after he shot
an impressive round
of 68.
Ho, who started to
play the game under
the guidance of his
father at the age
of ten and later attended
the Korea Physical
Education University,
is a globetrotting
golfer, playing on
the highly competitive
Japan Tour (2001 –
2006), where he won
the PGA Championship
in 2004 and 2005,
and the Korea PGA
Tour (1995 – 2006).
In 2004, the Seoul
native finished third
on the Japan Tour’s
Order of Merit list.
Two years earlier,
Ho was the first Korean
winner in Japan since
1999. Ho is no stranger
to team match play,
however, as he was
a critical player
in South Korea’s tied
third place finish
in the 2002 World
Golf Championship-World
Cup in Mexico.
This will be Ho’s
second time representing
Asia in the Royal
Trophy.
